Scholarships and Places


At all United World Colleges, it is our basic philosophy to select students purely on merit and their financial background is not a hindrance for them to be selected. Therefore, the UWC Scholarship Scheme provides scholarships and fee remission to selected students according to their financial need on a means-tested basis.

Scholarships range from HK$500 per year up to the amount of the full scholarship. A full scholarship to attend a UWC covers tuition, textbooks and boarding. Scholarships do not cover air fare, travel expenses, pocket money and other incidental expenses.

Scholarships and Places available for the term 2017-2019:

LPCUWC

Approximately 50 scholarships are available to Hong Kong Applicants on a means-tested basis to study at LPCUWC.

These scholarships are funded by the Lord Wilson UWC Scholarship Fund, and LPCUWC’s own Endowment Funds, set up with the generous support of the Li Po Chun Charitable Trust Fund and the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.

Overseas UWCs

Approximately 15 scholarships are available to Hong Kong Applicants to attend any one of the following UWC colleges, tenable at a selection of the following:

  1. UWC Adriatic, Italy
  2. UWC Atlantic College, UK
  3. UWC Changshu China, China 
  4. UWC Costa Rica, Costa Rica
  5. UWC Dilijan, Armenia
  6. UWC Maastricht, The Netherlands
  7. UWC Mahindra College, India
  8. UWC in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina
  9. Pearson College UWC, Canada
  10. UWC Red Cross Nordic, Norway
  11. UWC Robert Bosch College, Germany
  12. UWC Thailand, Thailland
  13. UWC-USA, USA
  14. Waterford Kamhlaba UWC, Swaziland

Please note that not all Colleges may offer space to Hong Kong students every year. This will normally be confirmed by 31st December. Scholarship support is provided according to need on a means-tested basis. 

 

These scholarships are funded by charitable organisations (including Li Po Chun Charitable Trust Fund, Sir Jack Cater Scholarship Trust Fund and Lord Wilson UWC Scholarship Fund) and donations from alumni and supporters of UWC.
