Support Davis-UWC IMPACT Challenge

Patron Shelby M C Davis Shelby Davis has issued a challenge to the UWC community to take ownership of UWC’s future sustainability by committing to become regular donors. Shelby has committed a gargantuan $15,000,000; that is one million dollars for every school or college in the UWC family. This new US $15 million match-funding incentive has been designed to encourage and increase donations from UWC alumni, parents and other UWC supporters.

To activate the matched funding, each college needs to increase its number of donors, including alumni, parents, friends and family, after which each individual gift will be matched at 100% for a new donor and 50% for a new gift from an existing donor.

Contribute to support UWC Scholarship

Diversity is at the heart of UWC. Scholarships are our most powerful tool in ensuring a broad socio economic mix within the student body that adds value to the student experience and the Organisation. To continue our work, UWC relies on donations from individuals, trusts, foundations, companies and governments. With your generosity, inspiring students with vulnerable financial background or from developing countries will be able to experience
UWC   and   live   the   UWC   values.

Contribute to support LPCUWC's Quan Cai Programmes

Like other UWCs, Li Po Chun UWC focuses not only on academic excellence but also the involvement of students on artistic pursuits, physical activity and community service. Our Creativity, Action, Service (CAS), or ‘Quan Cai’ (全才) programme, consists of 70 activities in 2013/2014, enable us to adopt a holistic approach to education that strives to nurture fully rounded and balanced young people.

Some of these Quan Cai programmes need extra funding to operate. For example, Coral Monitoring, which focuses on monitoring the major coral communities at Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park in which a WWF Marine Studies Centre has been constructed. It involves students and staff training as divers and learning about marine systems as well as identification and survey techniques. The activity monitors the corals by using Reefcheck and Coralcheck protocols, and shares the data with both of those organisations, as well as PADI Project Aware, WWF and the Hong Kong Agricultural, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD). Other notable initiatives include Initiative For Peace, an activity that involves the training of participating students in conflict management and resolution; and Sino-Japanese Youth Conference, which brings together students from China, Hong Kong and Japan to promote dialogue, mutual understanding and celebration of difference.
